Electric Vehicle Charging Station

One of the key components of the University’s broader objective to create a sustainable campus is increasing support for alternative modes of transportation, be it cycling, public transit or lower carbon commuting. We can reduce approximately one metric tonne of carbon emissions for every Queen’s single-occupant-vehicle commuter that chooses an alternative transportation mode.

A new opportunity is now on the horizon to prepare the university to support cleaner modes of transportation by installing an electric vehicle charging station. With this infrastructure in place, the university can accommodate electric vehicles on campus by providing drivers with the chance to charge their vehicles at work or when visiting. ?We plan to install a double charging station that would accommodate two vehicles at once and be compatible with all ranges of 100% electric or plug-in hybrids currently on the market. This, first-of-its-kind initiative for Queen’s will help pave the way for more sustainable transportation within our community.

We need your help to make this project a reality. We are currently accepting donations to support this initiative, which can be made by following the "Give Now" link. ?Once we have achieved our funding goal, the stations will be installed.

For more information about electric vehicles you can check out , a non-profit group focused on supporting the industry within Ontario.

Thank you for supporting this important sustainability initiative on campus.
