Q Success

Enhance your Queen's Experience!?

We want you to succeed and thrive?at Queen’s, and we’ve designed our Q Success program to help you do that. Through regular events?and 1-on-1 mentoring, Q Success aims to help students develop the skills they need to succeed academically, personally, and socially, and make the most of their university experience.

Q Success can help you:

  • Develop skills to succeed academically, including time management, note taking, and study skills.
  • Learn to balance the academic and social demands of university life
  • Develop strategies to stay physically and mentally healthy
  • Meet peers and develop a campus community
  • Connect to other campus resources that can play a role in your success

Q Success programming is open to all first-year Queen’s students.

Mentoring

Q Success offers first-year students the opportunity to be matched with a knowledgeable upper-year mentor. A mentor will provide one-on-one support throughout the academic year by offering an empathetic ear, provide advice based on their personal experiences, and be knowledageable?about resources to help you succeed. Students may register for a mentor at any point during the academic year; students are encouraged to apply prior to the beginning of the fall semester in order to get the most out of the program.

Events

Q Success events will provide students with the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge that will help them succeed at university. All workshops are designed to be interactive and engaging, and students will leave with tangible tactics they can implement or changes they can make. Workshop topics may include:?

  • Transition to University?
  • Mental Health?
  • Physical Health?
  • Academic Support?
  • Community Building

Events will be offered 1-2 times per month starting in September and will continue throughout the academic year.?A schedule of events?will be posted in late August.
